The Green Man is a mythological creature said to represent renewal and rebirth. In some mythologies the tree spirit is the strongest of all natural spirits, and represented wisdom, longevity, and would protect those in its care from evil.
These particular woodspirit carvings are made with cottonwood bark, and then painted with acrylics. I used green (obviously) but I added some brassy highlights that give them a mystical shine.
